Over the weekend, we hosted a baby shower for our very own Wicked Domestic, Elizabeth! It was such a beautiful day filled with friends and family to celebrate the impending birth of Cleatus the Fetus. Okay, so that’s not the baby’s name but that’s what we like to call it. We ate, we drank, we watched Elizabeth unwrap lots of ducky onesies…queue the awwwwwwws. Here are a few pictures from the day!
Yea, we’re super appropriate, right? That was the non-blogging sister, Chrissy, her card to Eliz. Hehe.
Here are the hostesses with the guest of honor! Non-blogging sister Chrissy, KKMP (Mum), Elizabeth and myself.
Okay, now to the real stuff. We decorated with clotheslines of onesies, stacks of children’s books and stacks of wooden blocks.
And a onesies on the mailbox is a surefire way to let everyone know where the shower is!
Eliz’s mother in law did the favors, which were the cutest. They were brownie fudge pops made to look like little jungle animals. We placed them in an antique white wicker bassinet.
On to the food! Here’s what we served:
Platters of cheese and crackers of course. What party is complete without them?!
Fig and goat cheese bruscetta, which were completely divine.
I made the same cranberry and rosemary gougeres that I made for Thanksgiving last year.
For lunch we served butternut squash soup, chicken barley soup, wild rice with cranberries and walnuts and two salads: a roasted turkey cobb and a tuna nicoise.
Here is the tuna nicoise salad:

And of course…the cake!
And the reason for the gathering? Presents! And baby gifts are seriously the cutest stuff on earth.
A HUGE thank you to our wonderful cousin Katie for opening her house for Elizabeth’s baby shower.
And Elizabeth and Matt, best of luck. Here’s hoping for a redhead bundle of joy!
